MINI Cooper Mark I

After spending a year and a half creating my Porsche 911, I decided to make a smaller and simpler car, but keeping some of the complexity of my previous creations.

But at the same time I wanted to follow the line to create all my cars on a scale between 1/7.5 and 1/8.5. So if I wanted to make a small car, I had to choose a very small car, a mini car we ... doing a MINI!!
The choice of the first version (Mark I) was only to seek a taste of the purest classic.

XR7 Mini Rally Car

The past year I made two RC Rally cars. Both were great but didn't have enough speed for me, the solution?? Easy, make a smaller and lighter car.

This new XR7 car has 16 studs wide, 29 studs length and weighs only 550gr.

Short Telescopic Transmission Shaft

Notmally if you want to build a telescopic transmission with double u-joint, minimum length is 8 studs if you use 3L joints. To avoid this I have desinged a very similar solution but with only 6 studs long. It is very simple and strong.

Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with instructions

Continuously Variable Transmission is a transmission type that has infinite speed ratio between two ratio limits (maximum ratio and minimum).

The system is based in two cones conected by other element (usually a belt), and moving this element along the cone you can change the transmission ratio in infinite positions.

Retro MOC: Dodge Viper RT/10

I built this MOC between years 2000 and 2002(I was 15...), and it recieved a little modifications in 2005

In that time I spend over 80% of my parts to build this car
Some parts of the car comes from set 8448.

Planetary gearbox with instructions

The gearboxes tend to locked when they are transmiting high torque, in this cases you need to use a clutch for disconnect the gearbox to the trasmission between speed changes.

For eliminate this problems exist a gearbox type which doesn't need clutch for change speeds, the planetary gearboxes.

Return-to-centrer systems

Retun-to-centrer systems are very useful and important for some mechanisms and almost essential for making RC cars.

But sometimes it is difficult to find a simple, reliable and effective system, so I show you some possible solutions to this problem.

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grandsport

This is my interpretation of what today should be a Lego supercar

SuperCar 2009 Complete Chassis

This is the complete chassis of my SuperCar 2009, a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grandsport

It have a completely sequential gearbox with 7+R speeds, unibody frame, all wheel drive, all wheel friction brakes, handbrake and more mechanism soon... All mechanism can be controlled by power functions.

The moc is divided in 6 fases, here you can see the 5 first fases, the last fase is the final Supercar

Sequential 7+R speeds gearbox instructions

To start of I’d like to say that what made me design this gear box was the fact that since the 8448 there hasn’t really been any development as far as gear boxes are concerned. AS a matter of fact there is a large number of great MOCs that in the end mostly use the same well-known, rather clumsy (although very reliable) manual gear box. Because of its reliability I decided to use this very gear box as the base for my design.
